Product Description
In this painting of Raga Vasanta, the joy of spring is shown with vivacity. Intoxicated with the joy of spring, Krishna dances on the bank of the Yamuna while Radha beats a drum decorated with floral patterns. In the foreground are the plants of Vasanta covered with yellow blossoms which are so common in the Kangra Valley in the month of March. The white plum blossom is symbolic of spiritual strength while the pink peach blossom signifies sensuous beauty. The spontaneous gestures and rhythm in this painting convey the ecstasy of spring. A unique synthesis of sound, form, colour and rhythmic movement has been achieved in this painting.
