Product Description
This charming painting illustrates the skill of Kangra painters who excel in delineation of female beauty. Ragini Devagandhari is represented as a young girl, undraped above the waist, praying at a wayside shrine of Shiva for the safe return of her lover. She has made offering of Dhatura flowers, and placed a jasmine garland on the shivalinga. There is a bird-shaped incense-burner in the foreground. The beauty of her bust is heightened by pearl necklaces. She is wearing a red sari, which is indicative of the state of her mind.
