Raga Megha is melody of clouds and rains and is meant to be sung during the evening in the rainy season. This is one of the oldest ragas found in the Indian Classical Music system. In this painting it is depicted as Krishna blowing his conch shell called Panchajanya. One attendant is holding an umbrella over him. The dark rain clouds with streaks of lightening and stock of birds in the sky create ambience suitable for Raga Megha.
