Raga Kumbha is son of Sri Raga. In the painting a young beautiful lady is pulling a pitcher out of the well and a thirsty soldier is waiting for water to be offered to him. The intricate brush work in making ornaments of the lady and leaves of the tree shows skill of the artist. The birds seeking each other on the tree are poetic symbol of love.
